Two attackers opened fire outside the U.S. consulate building in Turkey's biggest city, Istanbul, on Monday and then fled after police shot back, broadcaster CNN Turk said.

Police have detained a female suspect following an attack on the U.S. consulate building in Istanbul on Monday, broadcaster NTV said.
